The Medical Laboratory Technician program at New Gate School of Basic Health Science prepares students to perform essential laboratory tests that aid in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases. The program covers areas such as hematology, microbiology, clinical chemistry, parasitology, and immunology.
Students gain hands-on training in modern lab techniques, sample collection and analysis, equipment handling, and laboratory safety protocols. The curriculum is designed in line with national health standards, ensuring graduates are competent to work in hospitals, diagnostic centers, research labs, and public health institutions across Nigeria.
Duration: 3 years
Entry Requirements: Minimum of 5 O’Level credits including English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics in not more than two sittings.
Certification: Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technician (recognized by the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria)
