The Pharmacy Technician program at New Gate School of Basic Health Science is structured to provide students with the foundational knowledge and practical skills required to assist pharmacists in the preparation, dispensing, and management of medications. The program emphasizes pharmaceutical calculations, drug classification, pharmacology, inventory control, and patient care.
Students are trained to maintain accurate drug records, provide medication guidance under supervision, and uphold safety standards in pharmacies, hospitals, and healthcare facilities. The curriculum follows the guidelines set by regulatory bodies in Nigeria, ensuring graduates are well-prepared for real-world pharmacy operations and patient-focused service.
Duration: 2–3 years
Entry Requirements: Minimum of 5 O’Level credits including English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, and Physics in not more than two sittings.
Certification: Diploma in Pharmacy Technician (recognized by the Pharmacy Council of Nigeria)
